Ed Sheeran, the famous singer-songwriter known for his hit songs and captivating performances, recently shared a humorous moment with his fans. During a break on his Mathematics Tour, Sheeran joked that if he wasn’t a musician, he’d “be a virgin.”

Playing Pokémon Stadium

On August 3, Sheeran posted a video on social media of himself at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium in Lithuania. In the video, he was not just taking a break during soundcheck; he was playing the game ‘Pokémon Stadium’ on the stadium’s giant screen. He captioned the video with, “Pokémon Stadium in the stadium,” and used playful hashtags like “#superawesomewickedcool” and “#wannacometomybirthdayparty.”

Fan Reactions 

This video quickly gained a following and fans would comment and laugh at Jaden jokes. Someone jokingly recommended Harry Styles and when Sheeran said that ‘Harry said the same thing’ The other person asked, ‘But you don’t actually take advice from him, do you?’

Ed Sheeran Love for Pokémon

Ed Sheeran supports Pokémon in other ways, not just by playing the games. In the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games released in 2022, his song Celestial was included. Sheeran said that he started the Pokémon game immediately after he got to the primary school. He and his brother would swap Pokémon to have the entire list of them which was called Pokedex. Namely, he stated that he enjoyed the Pokémon cards but if it comes to video games he was more engaged. They gave him an opportunity to open a world, which he could turn to for solace especially times of stress.

One day, a fan asked Sheeran about his earlier remarks on video games to which the singer quipped, “Pokémon is not a video game, it is a life choice.”

Life Without a Phone

However, Sheeran himself is much more cautious about using electronics. He likes Pokémon, yet he does not run around manically with a Pokédex. Taking his phone away from him, in an episode of the show ‘Therapuss with Jake Shane’ aired June 2020, Sheeran said he has not used a phone since 2015. He said this was because when one is famous, one receives many messages and people contact them often. He now communicates through email and only opens it once a week so he can be more efficient with his time and still have a proper work-life balance.
