Malavika Mohanan is a popular Indian actress known for her work in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. She began her film career in 2013 with the Malayalam movie Pattam Pole. She is the daughter of famous cinematographer K. U. Mohanan. While she originally planned to work behind the camera as a director or cinematographer like her father, her career took a different turn when she visited a commercial shoot with him. There, veteran actor Mammootty noticed her and suggested her name for a role opposite his son Dulquer Salmaan. This led to her debut in the film industry.
