In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rohit spoke about Siraj’s importance to the team, saying, “We missed you at the function. You played a vital role in our T20 campaign, and I am proudly presenting you with a very special ring which was made for all of us.” Siraj, in return, smiled and proudly showed off the ring, calling himself a “Champion.”

The ring is a customized piece of jewelry that includes Siraj’s name, jersey number, and an Ashok Chakra symbol. This gesture was a way to celebrate India’s first major victory in a decade, as they won the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa in Barbados. It marked the country’s return to the top after their 2013 Champions Trophy win. The team members, including Siraj, were celebrated for their excellent performances during the tournament.
This win was particularly emotional as it came just after the announcement of several key players, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, retiring from T20 internationals. Despite some tense moments in the final, including a period when South Africa needed just 30 runs from 30 balls, India held their ground to secure the win.
