Akshay Kumar has officially announced the release date of his upcoming movie Kesari Chapter 2. The film, which also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Panday, is set to hit theaters worldwide on April 18, 2025. Fans are excited as the first part, Kesari, was a major success when it was released in 2019.
Kesari Chapter 2 Release Date Announced
Akshay shared the announcement through a motion poster on his Instagram. The poster shows a bloodied brick wall with bullet marks and the words, “A revolution painted in courage… Kesari Chapter 2.” The sound of gunshots can be heard in the background, adding to the intensity. Akshay also revealed that the teaser will be released on March 24, 2025.

The actor recently celebrated six years of Kesari, which was based on the historic Battle of Saragarhi, where 21 Sikh soldiers fought against thousands of Afghan invaders in 1897. The film was widely appreciated for its action, storytelling, and patriotic theme.
While the first Kesari focused on the bravery of the Sikh soldiers, Kesari Chapter 2 is reportedly inspired by another major historical event, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. This tragic incident took place on April 13, 1919, when British troops fired on unarmed Indian protesters, killing hundreds. The makers have not confirmed the full story, but the motion poster hints at a powerful and emotional narrative.
Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is involved in the project, shared that a new director is making their debut with this film. He revealed that the director has spent four to five years working on the project and faced several challenges due to the pandemic.
