John Stamos Recalls Scientology Encounter
At that moment, John Stamos while studying acting was taking acting classes and he met a woman who was a scientologist. John began developing an interest in church as he wanted to follow the footsteps of actor John Travolta. Therefore, Stamos went to the Scientology headquarters on Hollywood Boulevard.
While there, Stamos was exposed to the church’s E-Meter, a gadget applied in Scientology to analyze what the church calls “spiritual harm”. Thinking it was humorous, Stamos started posing for a picture holding the E-Meter to his head like it was a phone and was promptly ejected from the orientation area.
Stamos felt that it was rather uncomfortable for him but he voluntarily went through it to remain consistent with his character. Unlike another interview Stamos got uncomfortable when he was asked questions about his criminal records and some opinions about L. Ron Hubbard the founder of Scientology. He stated the session as creepy, and did not want to continue with Scientology any further.
However this short and rather odd meeting was, Stamos continued acting on television and is most famous for portraying Uncle Jesse in the show Full House. His account differs with other famous personalities who embraced scientology such as John Travolta, Tom Cruise.
Stamos’s story shows how celebrities engage with such p mahogany belief systems and the struggles that they go through in Hollywood.
