Speculations about Kanwar Dhillon’s involvement in Rahul Kumar Tewary’s upcoming show have been circulating after the departure of the initial generation of Pandya Store.
The Hindi TV industry is currently abuzz with reports that in an upcoming venture by Rahul Kumar Tewary, Kanwar Dhillon, a seasoned actor with a notable presence in various popular television shows, is poised to take on the lead role. Dhillon’s extensive portfolio includes noteworthy performances in well-received series such as Hum Hain Na, Internet Wala Love, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, Do Dil Ek Jaan, Piya Rangrezz, and Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee, among others. Most recently, his portrayal of Shiva Pandya in Star Plus’ Pandya Store has garnered him widespread recognition and established him as a familiar name in households.
With the departure of the initial generation of Pandya Store, speculations about Kanwar Dhillon’s involvement in another Star Plus production, under the direction of Rahul Kumar Tewary, have been circulating. Talking about one of his most successful shows so far, Pandya Store, translated as Shop of the Pandyas, is an Indian Hindi-language television family drama series that debuted on 25 January 2021 on Star Plus and is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Produced by Sunjoy Waddhwa and Commal Waddhwa under the banner Sphere Origins, this series serves as an official adaptation of Star Vijay’s Tamil show, Pandian Stores.
The Hindi version’s cast includes Kinshuk Mahajan, Shiny Doshi, Akshay Kharodia, Kanwar Dhillon, Mohit Parmar, Alice Kaushik, Simran Budharup, and Kruttika Desai. Starting from July 2023, Priyanshi Yadav and Rohit Chandel take on the roles of second-generation leads, alongside Kruttika Desai.
The narrative revolves around Gautam and Dhara Pandya, a middle-class married couple who oversee the management of the Pandya Store. In addition to their business responsibilities, Dhara takes on the role of caring for Gautam’s three younger siblings: Dev, Shiva, and Krish. While Shiva is married to Raavi and Dev to Rishita, the series delves into Dhara’s efforts to unite the family despite various challenges.
