Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, recently shared her thoughts on why she doesn’t want to become an actor. Despite coming from a famous film family, she has chosen a different path.
Navya Naveli Nanda Chooses Social Impact
In a recent talk at the India Today Mumbai Conclave 2024, Navya explained that she is passionate about social impact and business rather than acting. She mentioned, “I never wanted to act. I want to focus on my interests in social change and entrepreneurship.” She feels a strong responsibility to live up to her family’s legacy but believes her true calling lies elsewhere.

Navya is the daughter of Shweta Bachchan Nanda and businessman Nikhil Nanda. She is known for her podcast “What the hell, Navya,” where she discusses social issues with her mother and grandmother.
Recently, she faced criticism regarding her admission to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), with some questioning her achievements. However, she remains unfazed by online negativity. She stated, “I don’t take offense to anything that people say. My reality is different from that of many women in the country.”
Having graduated from Fordham University in New York in 2020, Navya also co-founded Aara Health, a health-tech company. She feels fortunate for the opportunities she has and aims to use her privilege to make a positive impact.
