The renowned actress, Shelley Duvall stars in her final film, “The Forest Hills.” The trailer for this indie horror movie was released on September 13, 2024. Sadly, Duvall passed away in July 2024 due to complications from diabetes, making this film a significant tribute to her acting career.

In “The Forest Hills,” Duvall plays the mother of Rico, a character portrayed by Chiko Mendez. Rico is haunted by dark visions and fears of becoming a werewolf. Duvall’s character is a troubled, chain-smoking mother who questions Rico about a traumatic event involving him and his sister.

Despite her health challenges, including using a wheelchair, Duvall filmed her scenes remotely from her Texas home, guided via Zoom. Director Scott Goldberg praised her for continuing to show her talent even under difficult circumstances.

The film, directed by Scott Goldberg, features Rico’s strained relationship with his mother and his friendship with Billy, played by Edward Furlong. Duvall, who retired from acting in 2002, described her return to the screen as a fulfilling experience.

“The Forest Hills” will have a limited release starting October 4, 2024, giving fans a final chance to see Duvall’s exceptional performance.
