Artem Chigvintsev, a popular dancer from Dancing with the Stars, will not be returning for Season 33 of the show. This news follows his recent arrest on August 29 2024, on charges related to domestic violence.
Will Artem Chigvintsev Arrested Amid DWTS
Artem Chigvintsev had been arrested at Napa Valley, California for an offense of felony, having caused corporal injury to his spouse. He was arrested and given the bond of $25000 but was released the same day. Such circumstances have evoked the show’s viewers to make assumptions of whether he will remain a part of the cast or not.

It is equally important to note that prior to Chigvintsev’s arrest there were no indications that he would be involved in the next season of Dancing with the Stars at all. This decision makes more sense because it goes without saying that this is an all-new season of the show where professional dancers are also changed every season.
Artem Chigvintsev has been a part of the show for the last 12 seasons out of which he was part of the last four seasons. He was able to lift the mirrorball trophy during Season 29 with professional dancer, Kaitlyn Bristowe.
More of the cast in the new season or family members will be unveiled on the 4th of September 2024, during the show Good Morning America. Stephen Nedoroscik, an Olympic bronze medalist is the confirmed first celebrity for the show.
The arrest is that of Artem Chigvintsev spouse, Nikki Garcia earlier in her career known as Nikki Bella. It happened one day after their wedding anniversary. Garcia had shared that she had gotten a facial in Napa through her Instagram Stories at the time.
New season of the show, DWTS, featuring a line up of new celebrities that will be announced in the summer of 2024 will kick off on 17th September, 2024 at 8.00 pm on both ABC and Disney+. The next day the episode will be able to be watched streaming only on Hulu.
