The popular BBC series Sherwood is back for its second season, which will premiere on November 14, 2024. This new season promises to bring even more drama and suspense to Nottinghamshire’s troubled community.

Sherwood Season 2 Overview
The next season of Sherwood will pick up from where Season 1 was left as it is an ongoing series. Drawing on the actual occurrences from the writer James Graham’s home-town, the show tells a story of how two mur Actions of violence have shocked a divided community derers affected a divided community. New and Returning Characters
The second season is expected to repeat the Sparrows’ story – a local crime family of the first season. As for the new characters, two new families will be met: Bottomleys and Bransons. These extensions threaten to bring in more tiers of conflict just for local thugs, prior enmities and vengeance, and betrayal aspects.
One of the main arcs of this season has a new sheriff trying to stop a planned mine. Even though this mine has been planned to create job opportunities and economic development it triggers past grievances of this community.
Cast and Crew
The new season is directed by Clio Barnard, who directed Ali & Ava and Tom George who directed This Country. Among the actors who are coming back are David Morrissey, Lesley Manville and Stephen Dillane. The other new cast members are Monica Dolan who takes the role of Stella and Robert Lindsay, David Harewood, Adam Hugill, Jorden Myrie and Ria Zmitrowicz.
James Graham, the man behind the show, returns as the screenwriter for all six episodes, focusing on social problems and local history. Most of the episodes will be directed by Clio Barnard while the final three episodes will be directed by Tom George.
Sherwood Season 2 Release Date and Viewing
Season 2 of Sherwood will start with two episodes on November 14 and November 15, 2024. It will continue airing new episodes on Sundays and Mondays. You can watch it on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
