The horror film Final Destination: Bloodlines is expected to make a strong opening at the box office. It is the sixth film in the Final Destination series and the first new part since 2011. This time, it is aiming for a big comeback with an opening of around 35 to 45 million dollars in North America. It may also earn another 35 million dollars from other countries, giving it a worldwide total of up to 80 million dollars in its first weekend.
Final Destination Bloodlines Dominates Box Office
The movie is produced by Warner Bros. and New Line, and it continues the franchise’s main idea of people escaping death but still dying in strange accidents. In this new chapter, the story follows a family whose members start dying one by one. The reason is that their grandmother was never meant to survive an accident that happened 50 years ago. The film cost about 50 million dollars to make.

At the same time, Marvel’s Thunderbolts is expected to fall to second place after ruling the box office for two weeks. It might earn around 15 to 18 million dollars this weekend. Even though it has done well so far, making 127 million dollars in the U.S. and 271 million worldwide, the film still needs to earn more to recover its big budget of 180 million dollars.
Another new release this weekend is Hurry Up Tomorrow, a film by Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd. The movie is based on his album of the same name. He plays a musician who cannot sleep and begins to lose his grip on reality. The film might earn only 5 to 7 million dollars, despite having popular actors like Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan.

Warner Bros. is enjoying a successful streak, as other films like Sinners and A Minecraft Movie are also doing well. These releases are helping the studio bounce back from earlier failures. Although the overall box office is still behind pre-pandemic levels, the success of current and upcoming movies is giving hope that things might improve during the summer season.
