He shared that he had already received payments and had invested that money in fixed deposits. But later, he had to break those deposits and return the funds to sponsors. This sudden situation left him struggling to manage finances.

Samay Raina admitted that during that time, he was extremely worried about his future. He had multiple brand deals and projects lined up, but many of them were cancelled. Some brands even asked for their money back after the controversy.

He also mentioned a major deal with a ticketing platform for his tour, where advance payments had already been used in planning. With everything falling apart at once, he felt uncertain about what would happen next.

While explaining his fear, Samay Raina shared that he was worried about going into a financial crisis similar to the situation once faced by Amitabh Bachchan. He referred to how even big names in the entertainment industry have gone through difficult financial phases in the past.

The issue started in early 2025 when a clip from India’s Got Latent sparked backlash. The show featured well-known internet personalities including Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija as panellists.
A comment made during the show led to public criticism and legal complaints. Following this, Samay Raina had to remove the show from YouTube, and several related projects were affected.
