Archana Puran Singh Slams “Kanjoos” Producers Over Long Hours, Poor Food And Skipped Lunch Breaks

Veteran actress Archana Puran Singh has spoken openly about the difficult working conditions on film and television sets. She recently shared her experience and criticised certain production houses for being “kanjoos” when it comes to basic facilities like food and working hours.

Her statements have brought attention to the challenges faced by actors and crew members behind the scenes.

Archana Puran Singh on Long Working Hours in Film Industry

Archana Puran Singh revealed that shooting schedules have become very demanding. She explained that earlier shifts used to be limited, but now they often stretch beyond 12 hours.

She said that many production teams expect actors and crew members to continue working for 13 to 14 hours without proper breaks. In some cases, even lunch breaks are skipped to complete the shoot faster.

According to her, this creates a stressful environment, especially for those who are working continuously under pressure.

Complaint About Food and Basic Facilities on Sets

One of the major concerns raised by Archana Puran Singh was about food arrangements on sets. She claimed that in some productions, food is limited and controlled in a way that does not meet the needs of the crew.

She shared that sometimes people are given very small portions, like just a couple of rotis and limited servings of food. She described this as a “mentality of stinginess,” where production houses try to save costs even on basic necessities.

She also highlighted how difficult it is for workers like lightmen, who spend long hours under the sun without proper food or rest.

Rajkummar Rao Supports the Concern

Actor Rajkummar Rao, who was present during the discussion, also agreed with Archana’s views. He pointed out that proper lunch breaks are important for everyone working on a set.

He said that instead of delaying meals, production teams should plan schedules in a way that allows everyone to eat on time and continue work comfortably. His statement added more weight to the issue, showing that it is a common concern in the industry.
