Actress Elli AvrRam, who has worked in both Bollywood and South Indian films, has opened up about her experience of working in different film industries. She shared that while both industries have been important in her journey, she finds South film sets more calm and organised compared to Bollywood.
Elli has appeared in several Hindi films and also worked in Tamil and Kannada cinema. Her experience across industries has given her a clear view of how differently film sets operate in India.
Elli AvrRam on Working Conditions in Bollywood
Talking about Bollywood, Elli AvrRam said that the environment on sets is often very fast-paced. She explained that things move quickly and sometimes there is very little waiting time between shots.
She shared that in Bollywood, actors are often called for their scenes without long breaks. According to her experience, schedules can be tight and the focus is mainly on finishing shoots on time. She also mentioned that this rushed style can sometimes make the working environment stressful.
However, Elli also clarified that her experience may vary depending on the project and the team involved.

She pointed out that instead of loud instructions, crews often use walkie-talkies for communication, which helps maintain calm on set. According to her, this creates a more comfortable working atmosphere for actors and technicians.
Elli also said that South film teams take better care of actors’ basic needs like food and rest, making the overall experience smoother.
Differences in Opportunities for Female Actors
Apart from working style, Elli AvrRam also shared her views on storytelling opportunities. She feels that South Indian cinema offers more strong and content-driven roles for female actors compared to Bollywood.
She explained that in Bollywood, female actors are sometimes typecast in similar kinds of roles. In contrast, she believes South films are more open to experimenting with different characters for women.
Elli also mentioned that she was happy when she got a chance to play a different kind of role in the film Malang, where she was seen in a new light.
Elli AvrRam’s Journey in Indian Cinema
Elli AvrRam made her Bollywood debut in 2013 with the film Mickey Virus. She also gained popularity after participating in the reality show Bigg Boss 7, where she became a known face among Indian audiences.
