The upcoming Madhubala biopic has already created strong curiosity in the film industry. The movie is expected to bring the life story of legendary actress Madhubala to the big screen. Over the past few weeks, several actresses have been linked with the project.
Names like Kiara Advani and Aneet Padda were earlier discussed as possible choices for the lead role. However, these discussions did not lead to any official casting announcement.
The film is believed to be connected with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is known for creating visually rich and emotional cinema.
Sai Pallavi was also considered for the lead role
Among the actresses considered for the project was Sai Pallavi, who has built a strong reputation with her performances in South Indian cinema.
The makers were reportedly interested in casting a fresh face for the role of Madhubala, and Sai Pallavi appeared to be a suitable option. Since she had not yet made her full Bollywood debut at the time, her presence could have brought a new energy to the film.
However, the discussions about her casting did not move forward and the idea was eventually dropped. The exact reason behind the decision has not been clearly shared, though scheduling issues may have played a part. As a result, Sai Pallavi is no longer being considered for the role in the planned biographical film.
Why Madhubala’s story is important for cinema
Madhubala remains one of the most celebrated actresses in Indian cinema history. Known for her beauty, charm and strong screen presence, she delivered memorable performances in classic films.
Her role in Mughal-e-Azam remains one of the most iconic performances in Bollywood history. Because of her legacy, a biopic about her life is expected to attract strong attention from audiences.
Filmmakers exploring this story are expected to present both her cinematic journey and the personal struggles she faced during her career.
Sai Pallavi preparing for upcoming projects
Even though she will not be part of the Madhubala biopic, Sai Pallavi has several important projects lined up. She will appear as Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious film Ramayana Part 1, where Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Lord Rama. The film also features actors such as Sunny Deol, Yash, Raghav Juyal, Ravie Dubey, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil and Kunal Kapoor.
Apart from this large-scale mythological film, Sai Pallavi is also preparing for her Hindi film debut Ek Din. The romantic drama stars Junaid Khan as the male lead and is directed by Sunil Pandey. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on May 1, 2026 and is inspired by the Thai film One Day.
Sai Pallavi continues to expand her film career
Sai Pallavi is known for choosing roles that focus on strong storytelling and emotional depth. Over the years, she has built a loyal audience through films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema.
With upcoming projects in both Bollywood and South Indian cinema, the actress continues to expand her presence across different film industries while maintaining her unique acting style.
