Filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap, best known for directing Dabangg (2010), has openly criticised Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and his family. In a recent interview, Kashyap described Salman as a “gunda” (goon), “ill-mannered,” and a “bad person.” He further said that Salman has not been genuinely interested in acting for the last 25 years.
Abhinav Kashyap Calls Salman Khan Gunda, Vindictive
According to Kashyap, Salman only shows up to film shoots as if he is doing a favour. “He is more concerned with the power of being a celebrity than with the craft of acting,” the director said. He also revealed that during the making of Dabangg, he realised Salman’s lack of interest in creative work.

Abhinav Kashyap did not stop at Salman alone. He accused the Khan family of being “vindictive” and controlling. He claimed that since the family has been in the film industry for decades, they continue to dominate Bollywood in a way that hurts others. “If you don’t agree with them, they come after you,” he added.
Dabangg, starring Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonu Sood, and others, was a huge success and created the popular character of Chulbul Pandey. However, Kashyap did not direct its sequels. Dabangg 2 (2012) was directed by Arbaaz Khan, and Dabangg 3 (2019) by Prabhu Deva.

After Dabangg, Kashyap directed Besharam (2013) with Ranbir Kapoor, but the film did not do well. Before films, he had worked in television serials such as Darr and Ssshhhh Koi Hai. He has also acted in a few films including Yuva and Paanch.
On the other hand, Salman Khan continues to remain one of Bollywood’s biggest stars. He was recently seen in Sikandar alongside Rashmika Mandanna. His next release will be Battle of Galwan, where he plays an Indian soldier in a film inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clashes. He is also hosting the latest season of Bigg Boss 19.
