Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) delivered a dominating performance against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025. The match was held on Thursday at Mullanpur, where RCB bowlers took complete control from the very beginning. RCB’s pace attack led by Josh Hazlewood and Yash Dayal was too much for Punjab to handle. They struck early in the powerplay and reduced Punjab to just 50 runs for 3 wickets in 6.3 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also played an important role by taking a key wicket early in the innings.

Rajat Patidar returned to lead the team after recovering from a finger injury. Josh Hazlewood also made a comeback to strengthen the bowling attack.
Punjab Kings had to make a last-minute change in their squad. Marco Jansen left to join the South African national team, and Azmatullah Omarzai was brought in as a replacement. Punjab won the toss but could not take advantage of it. Rajat Patidar, after winning the toss, chose to bowl first, believing that the pitch conditions would help their bowlers.
