Pankaj Tripathi is one of the most loved actors in India today. Known for his natural acting and simple style, he has won hearts with every role. He recently spoke in an interview about his popular character Madhav Mishra in the series Criminal Justice: A Family Matter. This is the fourth season of the show, and fans are excited to see him back.
Director Scolded Pankaj Tripathi for Humour
Tripathi shared how he was first offered the role. At first, he didn’t want to do it because it was based on a British show. But later, when he understood that it was adapted to fit the Indian legal system, he agreed and didn’t even watch the original series. He wanted his performance to feel fresh and not influenced.
The actor is known for adding humour to even serious roles. He believes that in a country like India, where people already deal with many problems, a little humour can make a big difference. He said that if you make people smile before telling something important, they are more likely to listen. His humour is natural and part of daily life, not forced or loud.

Tripathi also talked about how he learned this style during his theatre days. At first, his directors would scold him for being funny in serious scenes. But with time, he learned where and how to use humour effectively.
For him, innocence is as important as humour. He believes people have lost their innocence because of life’s burdens. He suggested that everyone should try to be innocent for just five minutes every day, like children. This practice brings peace and happiness. He tries to bring this feeling into all his roles.
However, he also warned that having a unique acting style can become a trap. When audiences expect only one kind of performance, it becomes hard for actors to try new things. Still, Tripathi continues to act from the heart and believes in staying honest in his work.
