Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s latest film Bhool Chuk Maaf has made a good start at the box office. Despite facing many delays, legal issues, and mixed reviews, the film managed to earn over 7 crore rupees on its first day. According to reports, the movie collected around 7.20 crore rupees on Day 1, which is a decent opening. Although it could not beat the collections of some recent big films like Stree 2 or Kesari Chapter 2, it still performed better than several other recent releases.

The movie did better than John Abraham’s The Diplomat and Shahid Kapoor’s Deva. It also earned more than Rajkummar Rao’s earlier films like Srikanth and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. However, it was behind Jaat, which earned over 9 crore, and Kesari Chapter 2, which collected more than 7.75 crore on opening day.
The film received a good response in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru. In these cities, the evening shows saw the highest audience turnout, especially in the National Capital Region and Bengaluru. The total occupancy across India was around 19 percent, with evening shows going up to 31 percent.
Directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the movie also stars Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, and Raghubir Yadav. These talented actors added strong support to the main leads and made the story more engaging.

Even though the film had a slow beginning due to legal troubles over its OTT release, the makers managed to release it in theatres on May 23. The film is expected to arrive on an OTT platform in two weeks, which could affect its long-term earnings at the box office. Still, the initial response shows that Bhool Chuk Maaf may have a stable run in the coming days.
