The movie Bhool Chuk Maaf, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, is ready to hit theaters soon after facing some legal problems. Earlier, the film was supposed to release in theaters on May 9, 2025. But just a day before the release, the makers decided to cancel the theatrical release and planned to release the movie online on Amazon Prime Video on May 16, 2025.
Bhool Chuk Maaf Theatrical Release Confirmed
However, this decision did not sit well with the movie theaters, especially PVR and Inox, who are big cinema chains in India. They were unhappy because they had already planned to show the movie in their theaters. So, PVR and Inox took legal action against the film’s production company, Maddock Films, asking for Rs 60 crores as compensation. The Bombay High Court then stopped the online release of the film until the dispute was solved.

After some talks, Maddock Films and the cinema chains settled the issue. Now, the makers have announced a new release date for Bhool Chuk Maaf. The movie will officially be released in theaters on May 23, 2025. Maddock Films shared this news on Instagram with a fun post saying the movie will bring lots of laughter and entertainment for families.
Bhool Chuk Maaf is directed by Karan Sharma. The story is about a small-town boy named Ranjan who gets a government job and plans to marry his love, Titli. But then, Ranjan forgets an important promise he made to Lord Shiva, and this causes him to get stuck in a time loop, leading to many funny and dramatic events. The film also stars popular actors like Sanjay Mishra, Raghubir Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Zakir Hussain, and Ishtiyak Khan.

Rajkummar Rao, who plays the lead role, will soon be seen in another film called Toaster alongside Sanya Malhotra. Wamiqa Gabbi, the female lead, will appear next in a movie named Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan.
