Aamir Khan is ready to return to the big screen with his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par. The film has already gained attention after its first poster release. Sitaare Zameen Par is said to be a spiritual sequel to the 2007 hit film Taare Zameen Par. While the earlier film focused on the emotional story of a dyslexic child, this new one takes a different tone. Aamir Khan has revealed that while the theme remains about people who are differently abled, this film is presented as a comedy. He shared in an interaction with his China-based fan club that unlike the previous film, which made audiences cry, this one will make them laugh. It also explores themes of love, friendship, and life.

The movie introduces ten new young actors and is directed by R. S. Prasanna, known for his film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. The screenplay is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film is said to be a remake of the Spanish movie Champions, which adds to its uniqueness.
The music of the film has been composed by the famous trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, and the lyrics are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Alongside Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, the movie is being produced by Aamir Khan himself along with Aparna Purohit and Ravi Bhagchandka.
