On May 6, 2025, Kapil, a young actor from Kerala, tragically drowned in the Souparnika River near Kollur, Karnataka. He had gone to the river to bathe after lunch when the strong currents swept him away. Local authorities and the forest department launched a search operation, and Kapil’s body was recovered later that evening.
Hombale Films Clarifies MF Kapil’s Death
Following this incident, there was some confusion regarding whether the event had occurred during the filming of Kantara. In response, Hombale Films, the production company behind the film, issued a clarification. The company expressed their condolences and explained that the incident did not happen on the sets of Kantara. They emphasized that no filming was scheduled on the day of the tragedy, and the incident occurred during Kapil’s personal time, unrelated to any film activities.
