She shared that the opportunities provided by OTT platforms have only increased, giving actors, especially women, a chance to portray roles that are more dynamic and multifaceted. She emphasized that OTT should be viewed as a valuable creative space rather than competition for films.
Nimrat’s role in Kull – The Legacy Of The Raisingghs, which began streaming on Jio Hotstar, is a prime example of the challenging roles OTT platforms offer. In the series, she plays Indrani, a royal member of a dysfunctional family. She expressed that this role was one of the most complex she has ever portrayed due to the intricacies of the character and the intense drama of the show. She took inspiration from historical figures like Maharani Gayatri Devi to bring her character to life, giving it depth and grace.

One of the unique aspects of filming for Kull was that Nimrat had the opportunity to stay at the Laxmi Niwas Palace, where part of the series was shot. This experience, she explained, helped her get into the character’s mindset and stay immersed in the royal atmosphere. The combination of the stunning location and the support from the relaxed team made the challenging shoots more manageable.
