As of day 7, the film has earned Rs 46.05 crore, inching closer to the Rs 50 crore mark. Despite seeing a slight drop in collections during the weekdays, the film has continued to receive positive reviews.
Kesari 2 Box Office Collection Nears 50 Crore
Released on April 18, 2025, “Kesari 2” is based on the true story of C. Sankaran Nair, a brave Indian lawyer who fought against the British Empire in court. The film has been praised for its storyline and Akshay Kumar’s powerful performance, but it hasn’t been able to achieve massive box office numbers like other commercial blockbusters.

The movie opened with Rs 7.75 crore on its first day, and the numbers grew over the weekend. On day 2, it earned Rs 9.75 crore, followed by Rs 12 crore on Sunday, a solid jump. However, like many films, there was a slight dip in collections on weekdays. On Monday, the film made Rs 4.59 crore, and the collections were Rs 5 crore on Tuesday. Unfortunately, Wednesday and Thursday saw a further decrease in earnings, bringing in Rs 3.6 crore and Rs 3.45 crore, respectively.
While the film has faced some challenges, including the tragic terror attacks in Kashmir, which may have affected audience sentiment, it still holds a decent position. Akshay Kumar’s star power has attracted audiences, especially in urban centers, but the film’s niche subject may not have resonated as strongly in smaller towns or tier-2, tier-3 cities.
The competition is growing, as new releases like “Ground Zero” starring Emraan Hashmi and the re-release of the classic “Andaz Apna Apna” are expected to impact the box office numbers for “Kesari 2.” The success of the film will largely depend on how it holds up over the weekend and whether it can recover from the mid-week drop.
