Actress Hansika Motwani and her mother Jyoti Motwani have approached the Bombay High Court asking to cancel an FIR filed against them by Hansika’s sister-in-law, Muskan Nancy James. Muskan is a television actress and had earlier filed a police complaint against her husband Prashant Motwani, along with Hansika and her mother. She accused them of cruelty, domestic violence, causing harm, and threats.

Hansika Motwani Seeks FIR Cancellation in Court

Hansika Motwani’s legal team says the complaint is false and done with bad intentions. They believe that the FIR was only filed after Hansika asked Muskan and Prashant to return Rs 27 lakh. Hansika claims she gave them this money to help with their wedding expenses, including paying wedding planners. According to her, the money has not been returned even now.

Hansika Motwani says she has nothing to do with her brother Prashant’s marital problems and that the case is being used to put pressure on her and her family. She believes that this complaint is part of a personal dispute and not a criminal matter. In her petition, she also said that the FIR is being used as a way to force a financial settlement in the ongoing divorce between Muskan and Prashant.

Earlier in February, both Hansika and her mother were granted anticipatory bail by the Mumbai Sessions Court. The Bombay High Court has now given a notice on their new petition and has set the next hearing for July 3.

Hansika feels that the case is unfair and that she is being dragged into a private family issue simply because she is Prashant’s sister. She has asked the court to cancel the FIR and end the legal pressure on her and her mother.
