The upcoming movie Karate Kid: Legends is generating excitement among fans of the classic martial arts franchise. The film was recently showcased at CinemaCon, where its stars, Ralph Macchio and Ben Wang, took the stage to introduce new footage.
Karate Kid: Legends Brings Back Icons
Ralph Macchio, who played Daniel LaRusso in the original Karate Kid films, returns to his iconic role. He was joined by Ben Wang, who plays a new character named Li Fong. Wang humorously mentioned that Macchio had made him do chores all week, referencing the famous “wax on, wax off” training from the original film. Jackie Chan, who starred in the 2010 Karate Kid reboot, is also part of the new movie, reprising his role as Mr. Han.

One of the most emotional moments in the newly revealed footage shows Mr. Han paying tribute to Mr. Miyagi, Daniel LaRusso’s late mentor. The scene highlights the connection between past and present characters, keeping the spirit of the original movies alive. Another clip featured intense action sequences, showcasing the martial arts skills that made the franchise famous.
The movie is directed by Jonathan Entwistle and is set to release in theaters on May 30. It takes place three years after the events of Cobra Kai Season 5, the popular Netflix series that revived interest in the Karate Kid story.
