The controversy surrounding the film L2: Empuraan has intensified with Kerala BJP leader B Gopalakrishnan’s recent comments. He criticized Supriya Menon, the wife of actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, calling her an “urban Naxal.” His remarks came after Mallika Sukumaran, Prithviraj’s mother, defended her son on social media, accusing Major Ravi of unfairly targeting Prithviraj.

Gopalakrishnan responded by attacking Supriya Menon and asking Mallika to “reign in” her daughter-in-law. He expressed displeasure with Mallika’s comments, which he felt were not related to cinema but rather a personal attack on Major Ravi. Gopalakrishnan also called Supriya arrogant and criticized her public support for her husband.

She recently shared an emotional post on Instagram, praising her husband’s dedication to Empuraan and expressing her pride in his vision for Malayalam cinema. Despite the criticism, Empuraan has been a major success, with tickets selling out quickly.
