The nominations for the 2025 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards have been announced, and Ella Langley is leading with eight nominations. This is her first time being nominated, and she has been recognized in major categories like Female Artist of the Year and Female New Artist.

One of the biggest surprises of the nominations was that Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter,” which won both Album of the Year and Country Album of the Year at the Grammys, did not receive any nominations. Another well-known country singer, Miranda Lambert, was also left out despite releasing her album “Postcards from Texas.”

The ACM Awards will take place on May 8 at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Country music legend Reba McEntire will host the event.

Ella Langley’s success comes largely from her song “You Look Like You Love Me,” a hit collaboration with Riley Green. The song has received six nominations, including Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Music Event of the Year. Other artists receiving multiple nominations include Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, and Morgan Wallen, each with seven nominations. Chris Stapleton has six nominations, while Riley Green and Post Malone have five.

The most prestigious award of the night, Entertainer of the Year, will be a tough competition. The nominees include Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Combs, and Jelly Roll. If Combs wins, he will earn the ACM Triple Crown Award, which recognizes artists who have won in three major categories over their careers.

Lainey Wilson won Entertainer of the Year last year, making her one of the few women to achieve this honor. Miranda Lambert won in 2022, while Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett tied for the award in 2020. Before Underwood’s win, the last woman to win was Taylor Swift in 2012.

The Album of the Year category includes Megan Moroney’s “Am I Okay? (I’ll Be Fine),” Wilson’s “Whirlwind,” Jelly Roll’s “Beautifully Broken,” Zach Top’s “Cold Beer & Country Music,” and Post Malone’s “F-1 Trillion.” In the Single of the Year category, Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” competes against Cody Johnson’s “Dirt Cheap,” Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help,” Chris Stapleton’s “White Horse,” and Ella Langley and Riley Green’s “You Look Like You Love Me.”

Several artists are receiving ACM nominations for the first time this year. These include Gavin Adcock, Dasha, Noah Kahan, Jessie Murph, Muscadine Bloodline, Shaboozey, Zach Top, The Red Clay Strays, Treaty Oak Revival, and Tucker Wetmore (Ella Langley).
