Empuraan

The much-awaited Malayalam film Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, has made history at the box office. The film was released in theatres on Thursday and earned a massive ₹22 crore across India on its opening day. This makes it the biggest Malayalam film opener of all time.

Empuraan Becomes Biggest Malayalam Opener

Before Empuraan, the highest opening day collection for a Malayalam film was Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life, which earned ₹7.6 crore on its first day. Now, Empuraan has set a new benchmark. The film collected around ₹19 crore from the Malayalam version, while its Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada versions contributed smaller amounts.
