Vikram’s much-awaited film Veera Dheera Sooran was expected to be a big success. However, due to a last-minute legal issue, the movie did not release on time. It was originally scheduled to hit theaters at 9 AM but was delayed. Many theaters had to reschedule their ticket bookings, and the first show started only after 11:30 AM. Fans who had already bought tickets for the morning shows were frustrated and demanded refunds.

This delay affected the film’s first-day box office performance. Even after the initial shows began, online booking platforms like BookMyShow did not show high ticket sales for the afternoon and evening screenings. Theaters reported that many shows were not filling up, which was disappointing for Vikram’s fans and the movie’s team.

In comparison, the Malayalam film Empuraan, starring Mohanlal, also did not see a huge rush for bookings in Tamil Nadu. However, its evening and night shows had better occupancy than Veera Dheera Sooran.
Despite extensive promotions over the past month, Veera Dheera Sooran struggled to attract audiences. Fans were surprised by the low demand, especially since Vikram is known for his dedicated performances. Some believe that the release date—towards the end of the month and on a non-festival Thursday—might have played a role. Others point out that Vikram’s recent films, except for Ponniyin Selvan, have not been major box office successes, which could have affected audience interest.

Trade experts estimate that the film’s first-day collection could be between ₹2 to ₹3 crore. If it receives positive word-of-mouth and good reviews, its weekend collections might improve. However, unlike superstars like Rajinikanth, Vijay, and Ajith, Vikram’s films have not had strong openings in recent years.
