Rahool Kanal, a well-known youth leader and social activist, has recently been in the news after leading an attack on a recording studio in Mumbai. The incident happened after stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra released a video mocking Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Kanal, along with 11 others, was arrested by the police for vandalizing Habitat Studio, where Kamra had recorded his latest video. However, they were granted bail on the same day.

Rahool Kanal defended his actions and warned Kamra that this was just a small reaction. He stated that anyone who speaks against their senior leaders would face serious consequences. He also said that Kamra would be taught a lesson if he continued making such statements in Mumbai.

Rahool Kanal has been active in politics for many years. He was once a close aide of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and played an important role in the party’s youth wing, Yuva Sena. He was also the Social Media In-Charge of the Shiv Sena. However, in July 2023, he left the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction and joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. He was later appointed as the General Secretary of the Yuva Sena in this faction.
Apart from politics, Kanal is also involved in social work. He is the founder and president of the ‘I Love Mumbai’ Foundation. He has served as a trustee for the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, one of India’s most respected religious institutions. He is also a member of the Education Committee at the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). In addition, he holds the position of President at the Pickleball Association of Maharashtra.

Kanal is also a businessman. He owns ‘Bhaijaanz’, a popular restaurant in Mumbai, named after Bollywood star Salman Khan. His involvement in politics, social work, and business has made him a significant figure in Maharashtra. However, his recent actions have drawn criticism and raised concerns about political violence and free speech in the state.
