Prabhas’ Salaar Re-Release Beats Tumbbad at Box Office but Trails Behind Sanam Teri Kasam

Prabhas’ action-packed film Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire was re-released in theaters on March 21, 2025. Despite being available on streaming platforms, the film attracted a large number of viewers, showing the strong influence of Prabhas and his massive fan following.

Prabhas’ Salaar Re-Release Success

The film quickly surpassed the re-release earnings of Tumbbad, which previously held the record. Salaar collected ₹1.72 crore in the southern states on its first day, while Tumbbad had earned ₹1.6 crore. The movie’s success proves that audiences still love to experience high-octane action on the big screen.

Although Salaar performed well, it could not surpass the re-release earnings of Sanam Teri Kasam, which had an impressive ₹4.25 crore collection on its opening day. This romantic drama gained a lot of popularity among younger audiences, leading to a strong re-release response.

The advance sales for Salaar showed an occupancy rate of 33.55%, with more than 1.35 lakh tickets sold on its first day. The movie, directed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame, features Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan in key roles. The film was a massive success when it was originally released in December 2023 and gained even more popularity on OTT platforms.
