Fresh Probe into Disha Salian’s Death Sparks Political Controversy and Public Debate in Maharashtra

Disha Salian

The demand for a fresh investigation into the death of Disha Salian, who was once the manager of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has once again become a topic of heated debate in Maharashtra. Disha Salian passed away on June 8, 2020, after allegedly falling from the 14th floor of a high-rise building in Mumbai’s Malad area. However, her father, Satish Salian, has recently raised questions about the cause of her death and is believed to have approached the Bombay High Court for a proper investigation.

Fresh Probe into Disha Salian’s Death

This development has led to political tensions, with different parties taking strong positions on the matter. The Maharashtra government has assured that anyone found guilty will face strict punishment, while the opposition, particularly Shiv Sena (UBT), claims that the sudden demand for a probe is politically motivated. They argue that this is an attempt to divert public attention from the recent violent clashes in Nagpur.

According to reports, Satish Salian has requested a First Information Report (FIR) against Aaditya Thackeray, the son of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray. He is also demanding that the case be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). However, his lawyer has stated that they are still in the process of officially filing the petition.

The political reactions to this case have been divided. Shiv Sena leaders believe that there is no evidence of foul play and that the case has already been investigated by law enforcement agencies. On the other hand, Maharashtra’s government ministers have acknowledged that Disha Salian’s death remains suspicious and have assured that a proper legal process will be followed.

Adding to the complexity of the issue is the connection between Disha Salian’s death and the passing of Sushant Singh Rajput. Just days after her tragic demise, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020. His case, initially ruled as a suicide, was later transferred to the CBI following widespread public demand and allegations of foul play.

Many believe that politics is playing a major role in keeping the case alive. While some argue that justice should be served for Disha and her family, others think that the case is being used as a tool for political gain. Political leaders from different parties have shared their opinions, with some supporting the investigation and others questioning its timing.

For now, the Bombay High Court’s response to the petition remains crucial in determining the next steps in the case. Whether the probe will be reopened or dismissed will depend on the court’s decision. Until then, the debate surrounding Disha Salian’s tragic death continues to make headlines, keeping both political leaders and the public engaged in discussions about truth, justice, and accountability.
