Saira Banu released a voice note addressing the public. She began with a respectful greeting and wished Rahman a speedy recovery. She shared that she had heard about his health and was relieved that he was doing well. She then clarified that, although they are separated, they are not officially divorced.

She explained that her health had been the reason for their separation, as she did not want to burden Rahman with stress. However, she emphasized that her prayers and good wishes would always be with him. Earlier, Rahman’s spokesperson shared details about his hospital visit. The musician had just returned from London and was feeling unwell. Doctors determined that his condition was caused by dehydration, worsened by fasting during the holy month of Ramzan. Fortunately, after medical checks, he was declared stable and discharged from the hospital.
Last year, AR Rahman and Saira Banu made their separation public through their lawyers. The couple had been married for 29 years and have three children together – AR Ameen, Khatija Rahman, and Raheema Rahman.
When the news of their divorce surfaced, Rahman expressed his emotions through a heartfelt social media post. He wrote about the pain of separation and how difficult it was to come to terms with the situation. He thanked his friends and supporters for respecting their privacy during this challenging time.
