Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji’s father, veteran actor Deb Mukerjee, passed away at the age of 83. His funeral was attended by several Bollywood celebrities, including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kajol, and Karan Johar.

Ranbir and Alia, who share a close bond with Ayan Mukerji, were in Alibaug celebrating Alia’s birthday when they received the sad news. They immediately returned to Mumbai to be by Ayan’s side. A video showed Ranbir and Alia arriving back in Mumbai with their daughter Raha before heading to Ayan Mukerji’s residence.

Deb Mukerjee was a well-known actor, famous for his roles in films like Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Baaton Baaton Mein, and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. He was also a significant figure in Bollywood’s Durga Puja celebrations, often hosting grand events attended by many celebrities.
Apart from Ranbir and Alia, other film industry members, including Kajol, Jaya Bachchan, and Karan Johar, were seen at the funeral. Deb Mukerjee was Kajol’s uncle, making his passing a personal loss for her family.
Ranbir Kapoor has worked with Ayan Mukerji in films like Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Brahmastra, while Alia Bhatt also starred in Brahmastra. Their presence at the funeral showed their deep respect and support for their close friend during this difficult time.
