Tom Cruise Reveals He Passed Out While Filming Extreme Stunts for Mission: Impossible

Tom Cruise’s Extreme Stunt Challenge

Tom Cruise is known for performing his own stunts, and his upcoming movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, is no exception. The Hollywood superstar recently revealed that he even passed out while filming a high-speed stunt for the movie.

Tom Cruise’s Extreme Stunt Challenge

In one scene, Cruise holds onto a 1930s biplane flying through the air at over 120 to 130 miles per hour. He explained that due to the high speed and wind pressure, he struggled to breathe properly and even lost consciousness at times.

Christopher McQuarrie, the director of the film, praised Cruise’s dedication to performing extreme stunts. He mentioned that the stunts in this movie are some of the most intense ever seen.

Cruise is no stranger to danger. In 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout, he performed a HALO jump, a high-altitude parachute jump used by military forces. This required him to jump from 25,000 feet and open his parachute just 800 feet above the ground.

Filming these stunts wasn’t easy. For the HALO jump, the Royal Air Force initially refused permission, saying it was too dangerous. However, Cruise and his team later filmed the scene in Abu Dhabi to get the shot right.

At 62 years old, Tom Cruise continues to push his limits with thrilling and death-defying stunts. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is set to release in May 2025, and fans are excited to see what new action-packed moments he has in store.
