Oscar-winning actor Ke Huy Quan has expressed his desire to take on a villainous role in Hollywood. Known for his heartfelt performances, Quan wants to explore a darker side of acting. He recently shared that he would love to play a Bond-style villain or a character similar to Hugh Grant’s role in Heretic.
Ke Huy Quan Wants Villain Role
Ke Huy Quan gained fame as a child actor in movies like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and The Goonies (1985). After a long break from acting, he made a powerful comeback with his role in Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), which won him an Academy Award and a Golden Globe.
In a recent interview, Quan revealed that he wants to step out of his comfort zone. He believes playing a villain would be a fun and exciting challenge. “I don’t want to be seen just as an action star. I want to explore different roles,” he said.
Quan mentioned that he admires the villains in James Bond movies. He is also inspired by Hugh Grant’s performance in Heretic, where Grant plays a dark and mysterious character. Quan hopes to bring his own unique touch to such roles.
After his success in Everything Everywhere All at Once, Quan is set to appear in several new projects. He will star as a retired hitman in the action thriller Love Hurts, releasing on February 7. He is also working on Fairytale in New York, where he plays a cab driver fighting criminals on Christmas Eve.
