Chhaava is a period drama set in the era of Maratha rule. Vicky plays the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Divya Dutta portrays the character of Soyarabai, the stepmother of Sambhaji Maharaj. She admitted that stepping into her character’s persona was an exciting and challenging experience, especially since the role differed so much from her previous work.

The film’s director, Laxman Utekar, received praise from Divya for his work on the film. She noted that the scenes directed by him gave her goosebumps, and she found the film visually stunning. “The film transports you to that era, thanks to Utekar’s direction,” she said.
