Birdie, a golden retriever, passed away at the age of 9 just before the holiday. Jennifer shared her grief with fans on social media, calling Birdie “the world’s best dog.” She wrote, “It seems odd to mourn a pet this much, but Birdie was a huge part of our family. It felt right to let everyone know.” She added that their veterinarian mentioned how pets often wait for their loved ones to return home before saying goodbye, and Birdie did just that for Violet.

Despite the sadness, Jennifer found comfort in having her family together. Her 19-year-old daughter, who is studying at Yale University, was a great source of support. Jennifer hosted Thanksgiving at her Los Angeles home, joined by her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, and their three children—Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. The family spent quality time together and even volunteered at The Midnight Mission’s Thanksgiving Street Fair to give back to the community.
Jennifer Garner and Ben, who separated in 2015 after ten years of marriage, continue to co-parent their children amicably. During this emotional time, Jennifer emphasized the importance of family unity, cherishing the moments they spent together during the holiday.
