Keke Palmer Remembers Being Starstruck by Mariska Hargitay on Law & Order: SVU Set

Keke Palmer, the talented actress known for her roles in Hustlers and Rags, recently shared a touching memory of being starstruck by Mariska Hargitay, the actress famous for playing Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The moment occurred back in 2005 when Keke Palmer guest-starred on the show at just 12 years old.

Keke Palmer Meets Hargitay

In a recent interview with BuzzFeed, Keke Palmer recalled her unforgettable experience on the Law & Order: SVU set. She shared how, as a young fan of the show, she was in awe of meeting Mariska Hargitay, who she had watched on TV for years. Keke said, “I grew up watching her show all my life as a kid, and I got the opportunity to work with her when I was 12 years old.”

Keke played a young girl named Tasha in the episode “Storm” (Season 7, Episode 10), where her character had been kidnapped and was trying to help Detectives Benson and Stabler rescue her sibling. During a hospital scene, Keke found herself overwhelmed when Mariska Hargitay, playing Olivia Benson, walked onto the set.

Keke explained how she felt completely speechless when Mariska entered the scene. She became so emotional that she momentarily forgot her lines. “I thought I really was from Katrina and was on my last breath,” Keke said, describing how real the moment felt to her. She couldn’t believe that the woman she had admired for so long, Olivia Benson, was right there to help her character. Keke added, “I was in deep shock for most of the scene.”

Years later, Keke Palmer reached out to Mariska Hargitay through social media to express her gratitude for the inspiration Hargitay had been in her life. Mariska replied warmly, telling Keke how proud she was of her achievements and reminiscing about their time together on set.

The experience left a lasting impact on Keke Palmer, and it’s clear that her admiration for Mariska Hargitay continues to this day.
