In an interview with People, Goldberg opened up about how she feels a bit “rusty” after such a long time away from the stage. “I’m rusty, trust me. I won’t be as rusty when you see me, but the old bones are creaking as I move,” she joked. However, she added that she is having a lot of fun with the character, who is known for being tough and mischievous.
Annie is one of the most loved musicals, telling the story of a young orphan girl who meets a rich man named Oliver Warbucks. The role of Miss Hannigan, the orphanage matron, has been played by several stars over the years, including Carol Burnett and Kathy Bates.

Goldberg has a long history in Broadway, having starred in major productions like Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. In her interview, she also shared how she’s eager to play more villainous roles. “I keep trying to get people to make me monsters [and] villains, and people are like ‘no,'” she said, adding that she enjoys playing such complex characters.
Goldberg also praised the young cast members who play the orphans in the show. She called them “fantastic” and noted how talented they are as actors. Goldberg’s return to Broadway is a highly anticipated moment, and fans are excited to see her take on the role of Miss Hannigan once again.
