The rumors about Neelam and Govinda first gained traction when he mentioned in his interview that he was fond of her and even suggested that his then-fiancée should change to become like Neelam Kothari. However, Neelam stated that such rumors were just a part of the media’s way of creating stories around celebrities’ lives.
Neelam also mentioned how actors in the past were often afraid of the press, as their words could be easily misinterpreted or manipulated. She pointed out that if an actor appeared in several films together with another, the media would often assume a romantic relationship, which was not always the case.
