Ranveer Singh or Diljit for Singh is Kinng Sequel
Filmmaker Shailendra Singh, who originally created the Singh is Kinng title, has confirmed that work on Singh is Kinng 2 is already underway. He revealed that production for the sequel will start in October 2025, with the goal of releasing the film in 2026.
Shailendra shared some intriguing details in a recent interview. He explained that while Akshay Kumar was the face of the first movie, the sequel will feature a new character instead of the original “Happy Singh” role. The final title for the movie could either be Singh is Kinng 2 or Singh is Kinng Returns.
When asked about the lead actor, Shailendra mentioned that he would love to have Ranveer Singh in the main role. He feels that Ranveer’s energetic, fun-loving personality would be perfect for the character. Shailendra also pointed out that Ranveer has never played a Sardar character before, which could bring something fresh to the film.
If things don’t work out with Ranveer, Diljit Dosanjh is the second choice. Shailendra noted that Diljit has the right mix of charm and energy for the part. Additionally, Shailendra is considering either Priyadarshan or Anees Bazmee as the director for the film, as both directors are known for their success in the comedy genre.
The original Singh is Kinng was directed by Anees Bazmee, and it featured an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Sonu Sood, Om Puri, and others. Fans are eager to see who will take up the mantle in the sequel.
At the moment, Ranveer Singh is busy filming an action thriller with Aditya Dhar, while Diljit Dosanjh is on his Dil-Luminati Tour. He also has projects like No Entry 2 and Border 2 coming up.
