In her message to Ross, Solange Knowles expressed love and support, saying, “Sending you so much love and strength, Shaun and to all in the comments struggling with the debilitating, confusing, and lonely symptoms of POTS!” Solange disclosed that she has been living with POTS, Sjögren’s syndrome, and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) since 2018.

To help others dealing with similar health challenges, Solange Knowles highlighted a non-profit organization, Dysautonomia International, which works to improve the lives of those with autonomic nervous system disorders through research and education. She expressed gratitude for the support she has received from the “spoonie community,” a term often used to describe those living with chronic illnesses.

POTS is a condition that affects the autonomic nervous system, leading to symptoms like lightheadedness, dizziness, and fainting, especially when transitioning from sitting or lying down to standing. Sjögren’s syndrome affects the glands responsible for moisture in the body, leading to dryness and discomfort.

Solange Knowles first spoke about her health challenges in 2017, when she canceled a New Year’s Eve performance due to an autonomic disease. She described her journey as complicated, mentioning, “Sometimes I feel cool, and other times not so cool at all.”

Shaun Ross responded to Solange’s message, thanking her for her support. He mentioned how her words were meaningful, especially as he navigates his own health challenges.
