Nita Ambani's Special Request to Mukesh Ambani During AI Summit with Nvidia's CEO Huang

At the recent AI Summit in Mumbai, hosted by Nvidia, an interesting moment unfolded between Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang. Before the two leaders discussed their groundbreaking partnership to advance AI infrastructure in India, Mukesh Ambani had a light-hearted instruction from his wife, Nita Ambani. Her request? I wanted to inform Huang that she was the visionary behind constructing the Jio World Centre, the event venue.

As the summit began, Mukesh Ambani welcomed Jensen Huang to Mumbai and proudly shared, “We are in the Jio World Centre, which is new and built by my wife.” He then added with humour, “If I don’t say that, I was instructed to.” Jensen Huang responded with a joke, saying, “Am I at her house? Beyond the humorous exchange, the summit saw the announcement of a significant AI collaboration. Nvidia will be supplying its advanced AI processors to Reliance Industries’ upcoming 1 GW data centre in Gujarat. Nvidia will also team up with Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro, India’s leading tech firms, to support AI development in the country.

This partnership aims to integrate Nvidia’s Blackwell AI processors in Reliance’s data centres and supply Hopper AI chips to larger data facilities managed by companies like Yotta Data Services and Tata Communications. In addition, Tech Mahindra will leverage Nvidia’s software to build a Hindi-language AI model, known as Indus 2.0.

The partnership between Reliance and Nvidia is set to accelerate AI capabilities in India, expanding AI accessibility and fostering growth across industries. By collaborating with Indian tech giants, Nvidia is taking steps to empower businesses with custom-built AI solutions and contribute to the digital transformation of the Indian economy.
