Legendary musician Stevie Wonder made Kamala Harris’ 60th birthday special by dedicating his classic song Happy Birthday to her. The celebration took place during Harris’ campaign in Georgia, as part of her visit to Black churches in the Atlanta area.
Stevie Wonder Serenades Kamala Harris
Harris first visited New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest, where she was welcomed with a heartfelt cappella version of Stevie Wonder’s 1981 hit, sung by the congregation. Later, at Divine Faith Ministries International in Jonesboro, Stevie Wonder himself joined the celebration and sang for her. He began by performing a cover of Bob Marley’s Redemption Song before leading the crowd in singing Happy Birthday to Harris.

This song, originally written to honor Martin Luther King Jr. and promote the establishment of a national holiday in his name, has become a timeless anthem for celebrations.
As Harris appeared touched by the gesture, Wonder encouraged her to enjoy the moment, saying, “Come on, don’t cry. We’re celebrating.” Harris expressed her gratitude for the iconic singer’s tribute.
Wonder’s appearance at the event is not the first time he has shown support for the Democratic Party. Back in August, he made a surprise appearance at the Democratic National Convention, where he performed his 1973 hit Higher Ground.
As the U.S. presidential election approaches, many celebrities have voiced their support for Kamala Harris, including Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, and George Clooney. Stevie Wonder’s heartfelt dedication adds to the list of notable moments on Harris’ campaign trail.
