The legendary superhero Batman has achieved a new milestone by becoming the first superhero to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The honor was awarded on September 26, 2024, during a special ceremony attended by top officials and fans.
Batman Receives Walk Star
The event began with a speech from Steve Nissen, the president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. He highlighted Batman’s strong presence across various media formats, including comic books, TV shows, movies, video games, and toys, over the past 85 years. Nissen stated, “Batman is one of the world’s most iconic characters, standing for justice, strength, and fearlessness.”

In addition to receiving the star, Batman also earned a Guinness World Record for being the first superhero to have this honor. Michael Empric, a Guinness World Records official, handed over the certificate to Jim Lee, the president, publisher, and CEO of DC Comics, during the event.
Many important personalities attended the ceremony, including Sarah Zurell, chair of the Chamber of Commerce board, and Los Angeles City Council Representative Hugo Soto-Martínez. A surprise guest also appeared—an actor dressed as Batman, who posed for pictures alongside the newly revealed star.
Batman is now one of only 20 fictional characters to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The first was Mickey Mouse. Over the years, Batman has been portrayed by several well-known actors, including Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, Robert Pattinson, Michael Keaton, and George Clooney. Directors like Christopher Nolan, Zack Snyder, and Matt Reeves have also made significant contributions to bringing the Dark Knight to life on the big screen.
