Florence Pugh Talks Internet Bullying and Body Image Struggles in Candid Interview

Florence Pugh recently shared her thoughts on internet bullying and body image in an interview with British Vogue. The actress, known for her roles in Dune and Midsommar, discussed how hurtful comments about her weight and confidence have affected her.

Florence Pugh Addresses Online Bullying

While talking to Pugh, people called the internet a “mean place”, the star confessed that reading backlash on her weight and confidence issues is very much painful to her. Thankfully, Tweed doesn’t allow her haters to make her lose hope and inner confidence: ‘It’s really hard to read people being nasty about my confidence or my weight,’ she admitted.

As for Pugh, one of the most authentic actresses, she doesn’t mind having conversations about her body. She has said in previous interviews she will not shy away from showing cellulite or her body squidge. Pugh does not want to pretend to be something she is not and thus she values being real.

In an interview, Pugh admitted that even though she looks and sounds very self-assured and confident in public, her confidence stems from her insecurities. She has been so determined to pretend she has it all together which she is slowly finding acceptable to be herself. “I don’t want to be anyone else,” she said, reminding herself and the reader of the need to empower ourselves not to aspire for what others have achieved but encourage ourselves to grow and thrive.

Pugh also mentioned she finds it uncomfortable to model and pose for photographs in magazines though they depict a feeling she sometimes does not affiliate with. She also struggles to relate to the covers that depict her as such that primarily represents cultural specific beauty norms.

Nevertheless, the difficulties of coping with insecure representations have been seen, and yet Pugh has found out how to enjoy being herself with fewer apprehensions about her figure. She knows perfectly well what she intends to perform and with what sort of personality.

Pugh is due to be featured in a romantic movie titled, We Live in Time which is to be directed by John Crowley. The movie coming out on October 11, includes Florence Pugh as Almut, a young woman struggling with the case of terminal illness plus chasing her dream of being a chef,and Andrew Garfield. The movie takes the audience through their aspect of love, life and parenthood.
