Broderick Honors James Earl Jones
During a recent interview I had with Broderick, he confessed to me how he has benefited from working with Jones. “I am so privileged to have got the opportunity to act with James Earl Jones,” Broderick added. He was glad to have Jones as his father and enjoyed working with him, especially in regard to his friendly disposition. Broderick wrote that Jones was a good listener who had a wide smile and seemingly was always interested in people’s stories.

Broderick also had a good word to say about Jones’ great acting skills that she demonstrated. He pointed out the bravery of Jones in the play Fences to be one of his best in his many roles that he undertook in his acting career. Broderick apparently regards Jones as one of the greatest talents of the generation of the actors and a great American actor.
Just as one can expect Minkoff, the co-director of the Lion King, to hail Jones’ achievement. Minkoff also pointed out that the choice of casting and voicing Mufasa was perfect as done by Jones and also noted that this role brought about a great change on how father figures are depicted in the films. He strongly believes that Jones’ voice is going to stay pertinent for decades to come.
Disney CEO Bob Iger also had kind words for Jones in the wake of his passing, terming him as one of the greatest actors of the big screen. Iger wrote that even though Jones has acted in close to 200 film and TV productions, his work has impacted successive generations of audiences.
