Bodybuilder Illia Yefimchyk Dies
He passed away on September 11 after being hospitalized on September 6. Yefimchyk suffered a heart attack and fell into a coma. His wife, Anna, performed chest compressions while waiting for help, but doctors later confirmed that his brain had stopped functioning.
Yefimchyk was famous for his incredible lifting abilities, including a 600-pound bench press, 700-pound deadlift, and 700-pound squats. Despite never competing in professional bodybuilding events, he gained a large following on social media by sharing his intense training routines.
He followed a strict diet, consuming up to 16,500 calories a day, which included large amounts of steak and sushi. His death comes shortly after other bodybuilders, like Neil Currey and Antonio Souza, also passed away at young ages, which has raised concerns about the health risks associated with bodybuilding.
